The issue with the presidency is that it mixes meta and lore. Meta, it makes so much sense that you have one person that’s in charge of the communication with the admins and handles the selection of mods the players want.

However, within lore, it just doesn’t work out. Within lore, q!Bad is so right about the voting not being fair and he’s right about the lack of guidelines. Letting q!Roier vote thrice, having five completely different laws to choose between, being told to vote and not being allowed/able to vote no, not having any of the European active players around to vote, even if it was a test, not making it clear before the vote that if it’s tied, q!Forever will choose which law to implement, q!Forever claiming it was just a meme and the law wasn’t being implemented, but turns out it was, not making the punishment for breaking the law clear.

As president in lore, you’re limited in how you can play it into the lore, you only really have three options, 1 being the federation using the president, 2 the president succumbing to a certain degree of dictatorship, meaning the president making decisions on his own or with one or two people advising him or 3, using the presidency to attempt to gain intel. Even if you wanted to do it in a completely egalitarian way, the meta won’t allow it, because they can’t add every single mod the players want, they must limit it, and the admins in collaboration with the chosen player (Forever) has to decide which to implement and which not to, in the end. It's limited how fair you can make it.

I have a set of OCs I want to debut soon, but the brain keeps refusing to brain, so have a stream of consciousness thing I wrote to loosen the writing muscles! I guess this is written like the main whumpee reflecting on the effects of the Central Whump Event on her and her co-whumpees. It is wildly unrefined, so yeah, sorry about that!

I wouldn’t recognize myself just less than a year ago. I used to revel in the freedom of loose t-shirts and shorts, even in the fall. I used to love feeling the wind blow across my entire body. I used to laugh more. I used to doodle on the back of my hands in meetings. I used to sleep like a baby. I used to do a lot of things.

Nowadays I layer myself in turtlenecks, jackets and long pants, even in the summer. I still love the wind, but it doesn’t blow across me quite the same as it used to. I have to remind myself to laugh sometimes. I wear fingerless gloves, no matter where I am. I wake up screaming in the middle of the night. A lot of things are different now.

I’ve learned to tolerate the uncomfortable heat from wearing so much clothing all the time. It’s better than the alternatives. I went to England and felt the wind buffeting me from the sea as I stood on a cliff. Its strength was comforting. I felt like I could lie down on it, and it would support me. I truly laughed then. I still doodle on my notepaper, and I’ve learned to be vague with my sketches. The people around me don’t want to see what my hands want to draw. The nightmares could be worse. At least I know he’s dead. I’m learning to get better.

[R] wears scarves instead of necklaces now, and baggy sweaters and sweatpants in bright colors to pretend she hasn’t changed. She still dances like the wind, but I can tell she dances heavier than she used to, and falters more often. Her laughs feel more forced and sharper than they used to. I miss the easy laughs and jokes. She doesn’t have to wear gloves, but her hands shake too often, and I will hold them when they do. She still wakes up sobbing, but when I am there, I sing her back to sleep with the new songs. She’s hiding her scars.

[T] wears turtlenecks and her hoodie is up too often. Her hair, when it escapes her hood, still blows in the wind, but her eyes never lighten when it blows. Her laugh is bitter, even when she truly feels joy. If I make her laugh enough, she’s bound to get better, though, right? Her hands retreat into her sleeves or her pockets more often than not, but she forces them to be steady. They have to be, she says, if she's to continue as a medic. We all avoid nightmares easier when we sleep as we used to. Their heads on my lap, my arms on their shoulders or heads, backs to the wall. She’s trying to pretend she has no scars.
